Hi, I'm Emma

A licensed Anusara Elements™ yoga teacher based in Buckinghamshire. I teach in Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Princes Risborough and the surrounding areas.

Anusara yoga is a style of Hatha yoga. An alignment-focused practice that helps our bodies to stay safe, whilst encouraging openness, strength and freedom in every pose.

I offer a variety of private one-to-one sessions in the comfort of your own home, including Anusara yoga, Restorative yoga and Chair yoga. Whether you are a complete beginner or have practiced yoga before, each of my classes are tailored specifically to your needs and personal goals – as we build a yoga practice that I hope you will love.

I look forward to hopefully meeting you soon.

With love and gratitude,
Emma x

About me

I have been practising yoga since 2014, and I began my yoga teaching journey on the beautiful island of Koh Chang, Thailand in 2016 when I completed my first Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with Radhika Yoga.

I continued my yoga education in Goa, India with a Multi-style Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training with Diya Yoga, followed by a CPD Yoga Therapy Teacher course in London with Ambika Yoga.

My focus is now with Anusara yoga after completing my Anusara Immersion and Teacher Training in Surrey with Sarah Powell Yoga.

I am always learning and continue to develop my yoga practice and teaching skills. I have trained with many inspiring yogis, but I am particularly grateful to my teacher Sarah who ignited my passion for Anusara yoga.

Above all I really enjoy nurturing those who are new to the practice, by creating a safe space where people can discover the magic of yoga.

With happiness and bliss within, there is happiness and bliss in all places

Available Sessions

Anusara Elements Yoga

An introduction to Anusara yoga and their Universal Principles of Alignment™.

Our class will begin with some breath work to encourage you to relax and be present on the mat. We will then set our intention for the practice, focusing on our chosen theme. We will explore a mixture of standing, seated and balancing poses, designed to strengthen the joints and muscles, increase flexibility and improve tone. You will then be guided into a lovely, restorative relaxation to finish the class.

My goal is for you to leave feeling connected to yourself, both physically and emotionally.

Restorative Yoga

A gentle yoga practice to encourage you to slow down and reset.

Give yourself time for complete relaxation and restorative care. Wear warm and cosy clothing – think fluffy socks. I will provide props, such as bolsters and blankets to ensure your body is fully supported as you ease away tension. The focus is on stillness, whilst easing deeper into poses for longer periods of time. Leave your busy world behind and step into peace.

Restorative yoga can help to relieve stress, calm anxiety and worry, encourage better sleep and offer relief from back pain, headaches and exhaustion.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is ideal for seniors and people with limited mobility conditions, such as Arthritis.

Your class will consist of a variety of modified yoga poses either seated in a chair, or standing using a chair for support. My gentle supportive sequence, designed according to your abilities, aims to strengthen your joints and muscles and keep you supple.

Chair yoga has many benefits, such as improving circulation, maintaining balance and promoting wellbeing. Your session will conclude with a lovely, soothing relaxation.

Testimonials

We love it - so energising and relaxing all at the same time!

Lisa Keighley

Absolutely loved it. Emma was very supportive and encouraging, she made me believe I could do it! As someone who is not naturally gifted or bendy the pace, content and level of expertise required suited all members of the group. Friendly uplifting experience.

Karen Saville

Just had another brilliant private yoga class with Emma. She is a great teacher - definitely recommend her home classes.

Alison Bradbury

I really enjoyed Emma’s session and very quickly felt the benefits. Emma is super calm and makes you relax. Her sessions are incredibly well planned and ensures there is progression each week. I loved it.

Lorna Philip

Had never done yoga before so wasn't sure what to expect but Emma paced the session perfectly, so I was able to keep up and she kept checking to ensure I was doing the exercises correctly. I have never been one for exercising but have thoroughly enjoyed both sessions I attended as I found them to be uplifting and invigorating. Emma was extremely attentive and supportive, enabling me to work round the exercises I struggled with as a result of my disabilities, so I felt a great sense of achievement at the end of each class thanks to her kindness and patience. Emma's expertise shone as she was able to focus on what I could do, rather than what I couldn't which makes her classes suitable for individuals of different abilities. I can not recommend Emma's yoga classes highly highly enough.
